Bagrationovsk 08.03.2024

The traditional February 23rd family trip has been postponed to March 8th due to bad weather. This time we went to the small town of Bagrationovsk (German name: Preussisch-Eylau) which is right on the border with Poland. It's rather compact but the weather was great.

The priests of this church made this spectacular garden; it's mostly evergreen so it already feels like Summer there even though it's early Spring.

Prussian past, Russian present. To the left are the remainings of the Preussisch-Eylau castle; it's being rebuilt into a tourist facility.

I regret not buying this for my inamorata...

"The House Of Domestic Services"

Bartoszyce 21, Olsztyn 101, Warszawa 311. Feels like a sign from ages ago.

The railroad station building is closed and is being put up for rent by Russian Railroads. It is weirdly located on the outskirts of the town, making it even more disused. The trains terminate here only twice a day.
