Late winter trip to a town named Sovetsk (German name: Tilsit, as in the Tilsiter cheese), the 2nd largest town in Kaliningrad Oblast. It is located on the Neman river, right on the border with Lithuania.

There used to be a tram system in Tilsit, but it was destroyed shortly before the war ended. This is just a monument, although it is not historically accurate because the trams ran on 1000mm gauge, and this is a Soviet tram designed for 1524 gauge.
Lithuania is right there across the river.
