Music Preservation Page

Take Me Back...

Welcome to my page dedicated to my little but, hopefully, worthwhile music preservation effort.

Some obscure music I like is hard to come by. One unlucky strike on the YouTube account, one unlucky server failure, and it might be gone forever. This page is for the stuff I actually like or care about, but if you want to see something here (or if you happen to have any extra info on the stuff you see here) (or if you just want to say something Nice), please write me an email at

Kiyotaka Sugiyama & Omega Tribe - ガラスのPALM TREE fan music video

The song itself has a near-zero risk of becoming lost media; however, a few years ago I found this fan-made music video and kept coming back to it because I kinda liked it. At some point my brain was like "Dude! You Gotta Save This Video On Your Personal Computer's Hard Drive!". I did, and the next time I wanted to watch in on YouTube I found out the entire channel got taken down. It was around 2021 I think.

Chaplin (Icelandic rock-and-roll band)

A band from the town of Borgarnes. According to this page (in Icelandic), they were mostly a live band, and only recorded one two-song single. I wasn't able to find any live recordings, but the single can be found on YouTube.

Chaplin - Teygjutvist

Chaplin - 12612

"Teygjutvist" can also be heard in the very beginning of this interview about sports in Borgarnes, on the 0:19 mark (preserved by me as well)

Predator (French heavy metal band)

Discogs page. My biggest effort to date. This one has been going for me since 2019; that's when I found a video of Side A of "Cauchemars" being played on a vinyl player. A little more digging revealed the entire single, which I subsequently uploaded on YouTube. I did some further research and discovered the Nuit Astrale demo as well. I kept coming back to the band every now and then, but no other singles were found until May of 2020, when a part of the Rock Star single was uploaded on YouTube by a man named Christophe Delbard, who apparently was a radio host in the 80s and was good friends with the band. The video contains the entire "Rock Star", as well as part of "Androïde" and the ending of "Cauchemars" from the eponymous single (which is particularly interesting because it's the only version of the song where there's no glitch right before the song ends). I was delighted by the discovery and asked Christophe if he could upload the entire "Androïde". He said he can put it up online, and asked me, perhaps to make small talk, where I'm from. I was careless enough to mention I'm Russian, and after that I never received further reply (Well Man I'm Very Sorry For Being Russian (I Can Not Be Forgiven!)). He has since made numerous uploads, but all of them are of him playing his guitar, and none of them are what I was looking for :( . Recently I asked him once again if he could upload the single, mentioning that I'm very interested in preserving the legacy of the band, but once again I wasn't met with an answer. He has since replied to another man in the comments, but not to me .·´¯`(>▂<)´¯`·. According to the Discogs page of the J'ai Besoin De Toi single, the only single that I wasn't able to trace at least partially so far, he owns it as well. I can only hope he will eventually upload them online before something bad happens to the recordings...
